UAE minister says unanimous OPEC output quotas decision required
VIENNA, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- A decision to adjust output quotas under the OPEC+ oil production cut deal must be approved by all OPEC states, UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al-Mazrouei told reporters on Friday.
“All OPEC’s decisions are always made unanimously. We will not change it,” he said.
He also expressed confidence that a decision acceptable for all the participants will be found.
On Thursday, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that a ministerial committee to monitor implementation of the agreement had recommended raising output under the deal by 1 million barrels per day.
Saudi Arabia Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih said that the recommendation was only nominal, and the real increase would be different.
